About Us

Energy has a double standard. We think it's time to end it.

WHO WE ARE

Having worked in the energy industry for years, our team understood how traditional energy contracts favoured large corporates and held every other business back. We started Hedged to fix that.

The problem

It all comes down to how much you consume. Large businesses are offered direct access to live wholesale energy prices and flexible contract structures. Smaller and mid-sized businesses, on the other hand, have only ever been given one choice: fixed contracts.

Fixed contracts lock you into a single price for years, bundled with hidden risk premiums and inflated retail margins. When a business accesses the wholesale market directly, those extra layers strip away, leaving the actual price of energy. It never felt fair that only the biggest businesses were allowed to access those savings.

Our solution

We’re the first in the UK to open up the wholesale market to small- and mid-sized businesses.

But wholesale access only works if you’re free to move with the market. So we threw out traditional contracts and replaced them with a simple, flexible 30-day rolling subscription. We believe every business deserves the chance to buy energy on the same terms as major suppliers and large corporates.

Old Energy v New Energy

Old Energy (Fixed Contracts)

Locks you into one price for years, with a risk premium baked in.
Buries its margins in fine print you can't decode.
Charges you to grow, shrink or leave.
Relies on cold calls, auto-renewals and slow paperwork.
Hedged spark mark

New Energy (Hedged)

Moves with the market, so you're never stuck on yesterday's guess.
Shows every cost, unit and certificate upfront.
Runs on a 30-day rolling term, no penalties, no drama.
Runs on your terms: you decide when to switch or leave.

How we see business energy contracts

They should create clarity, not confusion

Energy contracts shouldn't hide supplier profits inside unit rates or fine print. You deserve to see your raw wholesale costs, itemised non-commodity charges and fees in plain English.

They should support change, not get in the way

Your operational needs change constantly. A flexible 30-day rolling agreement gives you the freedom to add sites, drop meters or walk away if we don't deliver.

They should save you time, not consume it

No middlemen, no slow processes and no "we'll get back to you in 5–10 working days". We reduce the friction with a digital-first approach so you can act fast and stay agile.

They should use volatility, not fear it

Price fluctuations are an unavoidable reality of the energy market. By moving away from trying to time the market, you build resilience against shifts and capture price drops as they happen.
